creepy pet shop

What we loved about Creepiest Pet Shop ? Is pretty much everything. The first thing I noticed was the creepy cute artwork. Anyce and I (Amber) both love creepy things. So, of course we had to play this game! The most important thing about this game is everyone in our house can play! There is an sensitive or non readers variant. Perfect for Zayden who is 5 and isn’t reading. Along with also being a sensitive player. He hates losing & will sometimes quit games, when he thinks he is wont win. He is getting better thankfully!

We are looking forward to the kickstarter! This a game we will be backing. What we are most looking forward to seeing with the Kickstater to see what stretch goals can get unlocked. Along with card quality being a stronger (Keep in mind we have a demo game) We are rough with our cards because we play hard, we are racing to be first & sometimes a card or two may not survive. I hope you decide to check it out!

P.S My favorite card is the Vincent Price wild card!!!

Vincent Price Wild

Each turn is divided into 4 phases

Effect: You play an effect card on yourself or your opponent.

Revealing Pets: Starting with the oldest player reveal 2 pets. (If an effect card is play the person who flips it over is effected)

Exploding Kittens!

The original edition of Exploding Kittens is family, kid, and workplace friendly! That one come is the RED box!!!
The NSFW edition is not!!! I repeat if your buying this game for a family with kids to play don’t buy the NSFW edition!! It is very explicit.

This game is a light fun party game. Even those who don’t play games will enjoy the simplicity, yet fun of Exploding Kittens.

When it is your turn you choose to play a card on the discard pile and take that action or not too. You don’t have to always play cards. Though you can play as may cards as you would like per turn. You do have to pick up card unless during special circumstances due to action cards.

You stay alive as long as you don’t draw an Exploding Kitten. If you do and have no action cards to stop it you EXPLODE and your out out of the game. THE LAST PERSON ALIVE WINS!

Types of cards

Defuse Card = You can play this card to stop an Exploding Kitten. You get to stay alive! Place the Exploding Kitten in the deck anywhere of your choice.

Nope Card = Stop any actions… except an Exploding Kitten. You can nope a nope cards as many times as you would like. You can play a nope card at any time of the game, it doesn’t need to be your turn.

Exploding Kitten = You must play this card immediately the only way to stop it is with a defuse card. If you die discard all of your cards. Including the Exploding Kitten.

Skip = End your turn without drawing a card. Skips can be used as a defused card 1 skip cards only skips 1 turn.

Favor = Force any player to give you 1 card from their card. They choose which card to give you.

Shuffle = Shuffle the draw pile

See The Future = Get to personally see the top 3 cards of the discard pile.

Special Combos

Two Of A Kind = Play a pair of kittens to steal a random card from another player

Three Of A Kind = Play 3 matching kittens to steal a “named” card from another player. If that player doesn’t have the card you named you get nothing.

Flip City

Flip City by Tasty Minstrel Games

Flip City by Tasty Minstrel Games is a micro-deckbuilder. It has everything you need in one box. No buying blind bags or expansions to build your decks up. Yet, it has great play ability. In this deck both sides of the cards are playable. This is my guess to why the game is called Flip City. 🙂 During your building phase you can purchase buildings and/or upgrade them . Upgrading the buildings is as simple as spending the money and flipping the card. Yet, getting your strategy and knowing which cards you want to flip is harder that you would think.

This game is unique has you don’t actually have a hand while playing. You will  play directly from the top of your deck. Each card that you lay will have a special action box that you have to complete. You can earn money, ribbons or sad faces. Once you have 3 sad faces played, your turn has to end and you don’t collect any money. You try to end your turn before you hit 3 sad faces, so you can move to the building phase. However, If you play 8 ribbons in your card playing phase you win!!!

We really love the fact that you can enjoy this game with the different variants. The solo variant is quite fun. I like to try different strategies or time myself while playing solo. You know basically get really good. So I can kick everyone else’s butts. That’s what solo variants are for right?

One Zero One

Grail games have this tabletop game making down! One Zero One is a quirky, tactical computer programming themed card game. You try to take command of the program lines. Each line is worth a certain amount of points. Who ever has the most points after the program runs wins. It’s a nice, quick 2-player only game. It’s no wonder why this game got backed via Kickstarter. You can start geeking out now.

While playing you will be player Zero or player One. Each player will have identical decks which includes 16 cards. Some of these cards will have commands printed on them. The commands will affect the card next to the edge it is printed on.
